How it works;

There are 3 Seperate Awards:

Open Bowler of the Year:

This is open to any member of the zone that is eligable to play for the Oriel Zone team's. Every time you qualify you get 1pt, if you reach the semi-final you will get 2pts, for being beaten in the final you will get 3pts and for every win you will get 5pts. This also includes our own open nationals But you can also get a bonus of 15 pts if you win or 5pts if you finish runner-up in the Champion of Champions or an Open Nationals Title outright. I.e. no points for the Ladies, Juniors or Over 55's is given to this award. For an Extra Bonus this year we will also reward our Mickey McGee Zone Singles winner 10pts breakdown 2 for qualifying, semi 3, beaten finalist 5 and winner 10pts. If a sub goes in your place to the finals night the sub gets the points. In our own National Qualifiers, points will only be awarded to Semi-finalists, Finalists and Winners. If only 4 qualifiers are taken back to our Zone Championships then there will be no 1 point, it will begin straight away at 2points.

Lady Bowler of the Year:

This is open to any lady of the zone that is eligable to play for the Oriel Zone team's. Every time you qualify you get 1pt, if you reach the semi-final you will get 2 for being beaten in the final you will get 3pts and for every win you will get 5pts. This also includes our own open nationals and Ladies Nationals. But you can also get a bonus of 10 pts if you win or 5pts if you finish runner-up in the Champion of Champions title or an Open Nationals Title outright or a Ladies Nationals outright .Therefore the differences are only Ladies from our Zone can enter and the Ladies Nationals are included. Junior Bowler of the Year:

This is open to any junior of the zone that is eligable to play for the Oriel Zone team's. For every semi-final you reach you will get 2pts, for being beaten in the final you will get 3pts and for every win you will get 5pts. This also includes our own Open Nationals and Junior Nationals along with the Danny O'Neill Singles. But you can also get a bonus of 10 pts if you win or 5pts if you finish runner-up in the Champion of Champions title or an Open Nationals Title outright or a Junior Nationals outright .Therefore the differences are only ladies from the zone can enter and the juniors national singles and pairs are included. For an Extra Bonus this year we will also reward our Mickey McGee Zone Singles winner 10pts breakdown 2 for qualifying, semi 3, beaten finalist 5 and winner 10pts. If a sub goes in your place to the finals night the sub gets the points.In our own National Qualifiers, points will only be awarded to Semi-finalists, Finalists and Winners. If only 4 qualifiers are taken back to our Zone Championships then there will be no 1 point, it will begin straight away at 2points.

 

After every tournament in the zone I will update the league and the prizes are presented to the winner at the dinner dance this year.

Lady Bowler of the Year: (prize to be confirmed)

Junior Bowler of the Year: Oriel Junior Shield and a Jersey of their choice
