The St Patrick’s Indoor Bowls Club Lordship held a very successful open pairs tournament recently in the St Patrick’s Sports &Leisure Centre Lordship.The qualifying sessions were run over 4 nights with the final held on Monday 5th October.The qualifiers produced some fine matches with a total of eight teams making it through to the final night .

The 8 qualifying pairs over the 4 qualifying nights were as follows;
Monday Night: Philip & Conor Mackin Cullyhaana Joe & Aidan Corrigan St Marys Newcastle
Tuesday Night: Tracey & Michelle Martin Redeemer Eileen & Danny McDonald St Anthonys
Thursday Night: Kevin Conroy & Gerry McCabe Redeemer Damien Taaffe & Gerry Crosby Redeemer
Saturday Night: Noel Mackin & Gary Mackin Cullyhaana Mauara Martin & Imelda Hanratty

Again on the finals night, under the watchful eye of Umpire for the night Donal Quigley, some excellent bowls were played and after some hard fought games the two pairs who made it through to the final were Gerry Mc Cabe & Kevin Conroy from Redeemer and father and son team Aidan & Joe Corrigan from Newcastle . These two top class teams played a brilliant game with Aidan & Joe coming out on top.
St Patrick’s Club Chairman Oliver Gallagher presented the prizes to the winners &qualifiers.
The St Pats club would like to thank all who helped make this tournament a success- all who supported it in any way, those who competed, supported the raffles, the umpires on the various night’s and especially those who provided & served refreshments each night .We look forward to our singles tournament later in the season.
