Oriel Indoor Bowling Zone
Established 1995
Constitution and Rules
- Title
The Organisation shall be called “The Oriel Indoor Bowling Zone”
- Objects
The objects of the Zone shall be to promote and regulate the game of short mat indoor bowling within the designated area
- Designated Area
The Oriel Indoor Bowling Zone will consist of clubs from the County of Louth, South Armagh, South Down, South Monaghan and North East Cavan
- Membership
Membership shall be open to operational clubs within the designated area, having no fewer than 10 members
- Annual Subscription
The annual subscription for all clubs will be fixed at the A.G.M. In the event of a club failing to pay the subscription on or before November the 1st each year, such club will forfeit all privileges of membership so long as the subscription remains unpaid. Unregistered Club players cannot represent the Oriel Zone in any competition.
- Administration
The office-bearers of the Zone shall consist of Zone Convenor, Zone Chairperson, Zone Secretary, Competition Secretary and Zone Treasurer. The affairs of the Zone shall be conducted by the Executive, consisting of the office-bearers and a committee elected at the A.G.M.
- Annual General Meetings
(A) The Annual General Meeting at which the office-bearers and committee are elected shall be held in the month of April each year. All appointments will come into effect from the A.G.M. each year. (B) Each club in membership shall send representatives (not exceeding 4) to the A.G.M. Each club is entitled to one vote (C) Notice of motions for consideration at the A.G.M. should be submitted in writing by affiliated club only to the Hon. Secretary on or before March the 1st each year. (D) When votes are tied at the A.G.M. the Chairperson has the casting vote. (E) 1 month notice shall be given to clubs of all General Meetings. (F) No block proposals shall be accepted at the Annual General Meeting.
- Office-bearers
(A) The Zone Convenor shall be the link between the Zone and the I.I.B.A. and shall oversee Zone Activities (B) The Zone Chairperson shall chair all meetings and arrange the Agenda with the Honorary Secretary (C) The Zone Secretary shall keep a record of all business of the Meeting and read all correspondence received. (D) The Zone Treasurer shall submit an audited financial statement for the year ending at the Annual General Meeting. She/he must also produce a financial statement at Zone Committee meetings held throughout the year. An Auditor shall be selected at the Annual General Meeting together with a committee member, to prepare the financial statement for the A.G.M
- Appeal and Disputes
(A) Any disputes in regard to the constitution or appeals in relation to the League or other competitions shall be referred in writing to the Honorary Secretary. The decision of the Executive in all matters will be final. (B) The executive will not entertain any correspondence from any individual member unless that correspondence comes through the Secretary of his/her club
- Disciplinary Procedures
(A) Any inappropriate behaviour either verbal or physical by any affiliated member of the Zone, at any League, Championship or function, will not be tolerated by the Zone Executive and will be dealt with accordingly. (B) The behaviour of members is the responsibility of the members club and that club must take steps to make sure that there is no repetition of such behaviour. The decision of the Executive is final.
