Â
Suprisingly after a great victory against Mid-Tyrone in the semi-final, the selectors decided to tamper with the team, with only 2 rinks remaining the same and two changes in personnel. Will this be a master-stroke or will it backfire like it did for the mens team. Only time will tell.

Â
Oriel went into the final with high hopes of their second victory in 4 years. Questions were asked before the game should changes have been made or should they have kept faith with the team that reached the final? They ended up taking in both Andrea and Mae Flanagan for the final and changed about most rinks. South Tyrone had looked phenomenal against Armagh so only a wonderful performance by our ladies would take home the crown.

Every year Oriel runs one tournament that guarantees an underdog will win a tournament. This tournament is called the "Tom Rooney" pairs, were if you have won a tournament in the last five years you must play with someone that hasn't won a tournament in that time. It also is a great fundraiser for a much needed cause the North East Hospice.
