Oriel have won the Junior Pairs for the last two seasons, with Calum and Philip winning in 2010 and Niall and Jason winning in 2011, can Oriel continue their monopoly of the Junior Pairs?

This season many of the top players have now become to old including part of the current holders Jason Hand. Shane took Jason’s place and he and brother Niall began with a tough contest against the Hanlon sisters Shawna and Aimee.

 

Report on Quarter Final: Shane and Niall struggled to break away from the Cooley girls and with 3 ends to go the score was 6-6. Shawna played a great bowl but had no luck and dropped a count of 3. This was the changing of the game and the hands pulled away. The battle of the McEnaney’s came down to tape with Conor eventually winning. The other Corduff pair of Eugene Russell and D ward beat Lauren Caldwell and Alana Long with an end to spare.

The two favourites both comfortably won with the Hands beating Conor McEnaney and the 2010 winners Calum and Philip beating D Ward.
