Calum's rink began fantastically and took an early lead and with some wonderful drawing shots never looked back easily winning 10-1 Jason, like Calum, always looked in control of his rink and with an end to go was uncatchable eventually winning 14-4. Niall's rink however, was struggling to overcome their opposition and with two ends to go, looked in serious danger of losing his point at 8-3. Suddenly his rink clicked into gear and picked up a couple of counts of 3 to win his game 9-8. The overall looked certain throughout and with Niall's brilliance in the last two ends Oriel began with a 5pts to 0 Victory. A fantastic start that they could hopefully buid on in their next game against South Tyrone.

Review of Match 2 v South Tyrone
Oriel continued were they left off. Jason's rink looked unstoppable and after an 11-1 lead shared the last few ends 4 a piece to win 15-5. Jasons rink including his youngest brother Shane, Dean McDonagh and Shawna Hanlon were relentless throughout and any difficult shots they got.Calum's rink was also on fire and rushed to an early lead and never let the lead slip. While Niall's rink ended up winning by only 2 shots, he in truth, never looked in danger of losing his point. Once again the overall never looked in doubt. Oriel now went into the last game only needing 1 point to reach the semi-finals.

Oriel went into this match knowing that a victory on any of the mats would put them through to the semi-final stages. This victory was never in doubt with Nialls rink finally showing what it made of by cruising to 15-0 victory. Calum was involved in a classic match with two young girls from Mid-Antrim. They played some wonderfull bowls and only for Calums crew was on top form could have lost his game. Jason was struggling at the beginning of the game going 5-0 down but again through some wonderful bowls won the next 5 end to win 9-5.
Â
Â
Oriel were brilliant throughout the day and ended up the only team with full points. During the last match against Mid Antrim they showed their grit and skill to pull through some difficult games. They were joined in the semi-finals with Larne, Western and Foyle.
