McMahon and Trainor reach final of National Pairs

The second night of the National Pairs continued where the last night finished with incredible bowlsPreliminary Round

Stephen McMahon and Kieran Trainor began their quest for the National Pairs by beating the dangerous Noel Mackin and Anthony Reel in a close contest.

1st Round

Their next opponents Pat and Bernie Cunningham, was a  more comfortable victory winning with an end to spare. Paul Duff beat Sean Traynor by 3. The battle of South Armagh saw Seamus McParland and Gerard McKeown cruised past Oliver Donaldson 14-2. Aidan Conroy and David McGuiness eased past Sean Duffy. John Murnaghan and Conor Mackin beat the inform Jim Harmon with ease.

2nd Round

Stephen and Kieran comfortably beat Gerry Cooney from Redeemer.  Seamus and Gerard continued where they left off winning with ease against Paul Duff and Andrew Meegan. Aidan and David were playing incredible bowls and were never in doubt against Sean Daly. John and Conor cruised past Gerry and Mary O’Hare

Quarter-Final

Aidan and David played sensational bowls in beating one of the favourites John and Conor with 2 ends to spare. Home favourite Seamus McParland run ended with Stephen and Kieran comfortably winning

Semi-Final (Last game of the Day)

Aidan and David began quickly and and with and end to go looked like they would reach the final leading 10-8. However Stephen and Kieran were not to be undone and picked up 2 shots. In the extra end the Cooley pair managed to pick up 1 and reach the final where they will face Mj O’Conner and Gerry Roe in the final
